Regarding the Author

scribbler. meanderer. scholar. wife.

I was inspired to start this blog as a successor to the blog I started as a missionary in Bolivia. God has continued to challenge me through my transition back to the U.S. so I have decided to document the adventures he brings my way here.

scribble (v): to write or draw

If you ever looked at my sermon notes you'd see a a cacophony of confusion. My mind is constantly moving with images, words, and colors. I tend to scribble down my thoughts in my barely legible handwriting or terrible doodles. For the purposes of the public, I will attempt to reorganize them into a reader-friendly fashion, but I cannot make any promises.

meander (v): to follow a winding course

My life is definitely both a figurative and literal winding course. I love adventure--meaning travel, hiking, biking, etc. I love to celebrate God's creation by experiencing it. As a follower of Christ, I also choose to surrender my life to His will. The result of my daily surrender lands me with constant surprises, twists, and turns.

scholar (n): a student

Throughout my lifetime, I have become more and more of a willing student. As a teacher by profession, I am challenged to learn as a method of instruction. I'm energized by academic challenges, challenges to my faith whether within the confines of a classroom or in the middle of the woods. God uses my everyday experiences to teach me something new, and I'm simply eager to learn.

wife (n): a married woman

I have only been married for a year, so I do not find myself to be an expert at this identity whatsoever. God has been using this new adventure in my life to really show me who I truly am.  My relationship with my husband has been more of a mirror of truth into myself.  Truths that I never would have seen as a single woman.
